Gríma Irmudóttir is an Icelandic documentary filmmaker based in Chicago whose work explores themes of identity, belonging, memory, and the relationship between people and the natural world through intimate, character-driven storytelling.

She holds an MFA in Documentary Media from Northwestern University and is a Fulbright and Leifur Eiríksson Foundation Fellow. Over the course of her career, she has worked across feature documentaries, television, and independent nonfiction productions as a director, associate producer, archival producer, researcher, and cinematographer.

Gríma directed the Icelandic television series Heima and the award-winning documentary Náttúrubönd (Nature Bonds). Her short documentary Memory Traces received the Best Icelandic Short Film Award at the Reykjavík International Film Festival (RIFF) and has screened internationally.

On The Day Iceland Stood Still, Gríma initially served as Associate Producer and Archival Producer before assuming her current role as Impact Producer. In this capacity, she supports the film's educational initiatives, institutional partnerships, audience engagement, and public outreach alongside her continuing work as a documentary director.
